In this psychological horror, the testing of a drug crosses ethical lines as one of the subjects is entrapped in an induced stated of psychosis, helpless to escape a sociopathic doctor running the drug trials. Written, produced, filmed and edited by Maria Makarov ’18, this short film is dark and intense from start to finish. The cinematography and lighting complement the maturity and skill of the script, while the acting of Kyle Holland ’18 and Vivienne Webster ’18 add yet another dimension of realism to this thriller. It’s themes of young love and loss are deliberately expressed with little context, to allow the audience to connect to the characters on an intimate level. With a fast-paced beginning and an open-ended break-up, Alex forces audiences to consider their own experiences with young love.
